Melancholy Mummy Posted on December 13, 2020 by MelancholyMummyDecember 13, 2020

The tiny tyrant was given some stickers by her nonna recently. Apparently, she had stashed a couple somewhere in the flat without me realising, and one morning came running up to me: “Mummy! Owl in my nose!!” I look inside … Continue reading →

The Tiniest Tyrant

Melancholy Mummy Posted on October 8, 2020 by MelancholyMummyOctober 8, 2020

My little genome is just over 2,5 years old now (31 months), and the tiniest tyrant that ever… tyranned? After lockdown and everything, we finally saw a Health Visitor today to check her height and weight, and she’s dropped another … Continue reading →

NaNo Boot Camp: Result

Melancholy Mummy Posted on October 2, 2020 by MelancholyMummyOctober 2, 2020

So, the two weeks of my writing group’s little NaNo Boot Camp have finished, and well… I think we can safely say that I’m not quite ready for NaNo in November! I didn’t manage to write 21,000 words in two … Continue reading →

NaNo Boot Camp: Week 1

Melancholy Mummy Posted on September 24, 2020 by MelancholyMummySeptember 24, 2020

My first week of our two-week NaNo Boot Camp went better than expected! I hit my targets and after seven days I was right on track for the 21k end goal. Then the tiny tyrant decided that bedtime was a … Continue reading →

Melancholy Mummy Posted on September 15, 2020 by MelancholyMummySeptember 17, 2020

Oops, I did it again! Or something. After a lot of humming and hawing, I decided that I should start fresh with a new blog. Let’s do it right this time! The focus of the blog will be… about as … Continue reading →

Our handsome, old boy. He turned 14 at the start of March, and is finally starting to show his age. Hopefully he will still be with us for several more years. ♥
And then edit like a fiend! It's good advice to keep yourself from worrying too much about what people will think, but I personally write better if I think at least *someone* will read it!
I’m finally ready to start on my next WIP, the third novel in the Howerty series (regency romance). To get myself in the right headspace, I made a little mood board for the story.
I always feel like I’m perceptually behind, with more stories to write than time to do so. Sometimes I get so stressed I stall and can’t get anything done. So this is a good reminder to myself. Just take it calm, take a deep breath... and write something. Anything. It can be fixed in edits later.
Today is Mothering Sunday here in the UK. I've had the privilege of being the mother to this tiny tyrant for just over three years now. It's the most rewarding - and the most challenging - thing I've ever done! She is a handful (hence the tiny tyrant moniker), but she's also loving and sweet, with a wonderful sense of humour.
Romance is on a high in the Morgans household.
